State based organisations (SBOs) work at a state/territory level to promote Network priorities and develop and maintain a good relationship with state/territory governments. Specifically, their roles and responsibilities include:
- raising awareness of the Network among state/territory governments
- maximising opportunities for general practice networks at a state/territory level
- ensuring general practice networks are well informed of relevant Australian Government and state/territory government issues
- ensuring AGPN is well informed of all issues that general practice networks have raised with regards to national policy and Australian Government operations
- supporting general practice networks to maximise their capacity and influence and ensuring they have the necessary tools to achieve agreed goals
- working closely with AGPN to form an effective leadership team to present a professional and consistent approach to all levels of government, the media and to general practice networks.
